El documental en si no aporta mucho en cuanto al rodaje de 'Only God Forgives', sin embargo tiene algún que otro detalle que agradará a los fans. Ver a Refn con sus post-it en la pared organizando sus ideas y alterando el orden y la narrativa de los sucesos del film, verle perder los estribos al no confiar plenamente en su trabajo y ver el respaldo de Liv... Podemos ver al artista en su intimidad y ver como él, al igual que el resto de creadores, también tiene sus momentos de frustración y duda sobre la valía de su propio trabajo. Todo esto le hace más grande.
Lo único que se echa en falta son más momentos "making off".

I bought it to use on a film course I teach about directing films. The students were more interested in Ryan Gosling than the director to be honest an if you are a Ryan Gosling fan there are many Ryan moments when he steals the documentary! Mind you that's not hard as Refn seems to suffering from angst as he makes the film and get quite introverted. I found it a little bit slow. It sure isn't a documentary about film making in the league of Hearts of Darkness for instance, but it shows the emotional ups and downs that Refn goes through as he is planning the shoot and we see his processes of planning to direct each scene, and how he has to raise money for the film by attending lots of photo shoots with Gosling. It shows the director's self doubt the impact he has on his family. Refn doesn't come out of the film seeming too appealing and it's shot by his wife!

Documentary about the filming of Only God Forgives, focussing on the impact on Nicolas Winding Refn and his family. An interesting watch with some good behind the scenes stuff on some of the unusual stuff that goes into making a movie. Ryan Gosling comes across very well, Winding Refn as a bit of a misery guts. Typical artist!

This is an interesting 57 minute documentary about the making of Nicholas Winding Refn's 'Only God Forgives'. There are no extras. In my view this ought to have been an extra on the DVD / Blu-ray release of the aforementioned film. It is directed by Liv Corfixen who also happens to be Nicholas Winding Refn's wife.
