This has to be UB40's best album release since Promises and Lies, their style of production on this album is a back to basics with no be bells and whistles.
The result is pure reggae, catchy tunes, heavy base, beautiful horn sections and the Campbell brothers sounding fresh.
Once again they touch on political platforms as well as love and a very unique Asian/reggae fusion track called Reasons. The UB's also return to doing what they do best and have covered an old Beatles song beautifully......
This , in my eyes and ears is their greatest album for a long, long time..... And also a fine return to form before the band sadly split into two groups...... This is a shining example of why they should bury the hatchet and get back to what they collectively do best.... Thumping reggae.

When I found out that UB40 did this album I was initially skeptical because I was unimpressed with all their cross-over stuff from back when. On the reviews here at amazon, I decided to buy it and give it a try. Thankfully, the whole CD is really true reggae and for that I give it 5 stars. I'm not compelled to skip any song on the whole CD which doesn't happen often. You can put it on in the background and just relax with it.

On the other hand, I must say that none of the tracks blew my mind, either. The cover gave me the idea this would be much more of a message CD and instead its full of love and relationship related songs more than anything else. You might say its mostly lovers rockers style. Its mellow and melodic.

This album is perfect for true fans of UB40 but also of true roots style reggae. Its a good CD, but "I'm Not Fooled" will remain my favorite UB40 song of all time. Nothing on this album comes close in my opinion. Still, if you're starved for roots style reggae this is a good bet.

This album reminds me of their older work and is a fantastic piece of work from start to finish. A great album for new reggae fans or UB40 fans to get in to this band and genre. The dvd is great and is a live piece with selected songs from the album. Worth buying it for this alone. I actually did buy this version to get the dvd as already had the album. Just listening to it just makes me smile. My son loves it as well and he's thirteen so definitely one for the family as well

Kudo's to UB40 for another stellar album. They have always kept reggae old school while still sounding fresh and vibrant. Beautiful rhythmic melodies and great lyrics. Even the classic reggae tracks like "good situation" aka Groovy situation sound updated but still retain old reggae charm.Ali campbell never sounded better. I look forward to more from this great group.

P.S UB40 was the number for the unemployment form in England. Which is where most the group met. Buy it and enjoy.
