Emmené par les frangins Meyer, Rich et Ryan, respectivement bassiste et batteur, associés au chanteur/guitariste Johnny Stevens, l'an passé, HIGHLY SUSPECT avait défrayé la chronique en voyant son premier album "Mister Asylum".
Ce disque, produit par Joel Hamilton (Elvis Costello, The Black Keys...),
avait connu un succès quasi immédiat notamment grâce aux singles "Bloodfeather" et "Lydia"
Dans la foulée, leur deuxième album "The Boy Who Died Wolf" - enregistré entre New York et Bogota, et une nouvelle fois produit par Hamilton sortira en France le 17 février 2017.

Fantastic album! There is not one song I don’t like! It’s well written and the musicianship is top notch! Love this album and this band!!! My faves are: “My Name is Human”, “Little One” and “Serotonia”! There is a vast amount of profanity, so it’s pretty inappropriate for little ones (pun intended) and those who don’t like bad language. Buy this album! It’s incredible!

Internetradio (xxxRock.fm) sei Dank, bin ich auf diese Band aufmerksam geworden.

CD‘s von Highly Suspect bestellt und seit dem kann ich diese nicht mehr aus dem Player entfernen. Unglaublich, denke ich immer wieder, wie kann man nur so gute Songs schreiben und spielen.

Das Album lässt sich super durchhören. Das liebe ich am meisten. Denn nur wenige Bands schaffen es ein wirklich gutes Album zu produzieren bei dem jeder Song anzuhören ist.

Jedem der gerne Rock, Alternative und E-Gitarren Solos mag empfehle ich diese CD. Vielleicht auch einfach mal bei YouTube ein Video reinziehen. Habe schon lange keine neue Rockband für mich entdeckt. Dank Highly Suspect wächst meine CD-Sammlung weiter an. Danke Jungs, habt ein tolles Album gemacht. Weiter so!

Après un très bon premier album, Highly Suspect confirme avec ce nouvel opus !
Ca fait du bien d'entendre un bon groupe de rock, dans la lignée de Nirvana, QOTSA, Foo Fighters, Arctic Monkeys, Archive etc...
Une mention spéciale sur la voix. J'apprécie la richesse des lignes mélodiques et ornements vocaux.
Sur la forme, certaines apprécieront sans doute les tatouages du chanteur Johnny Stevens, lui conférant un charisme certain ;)

I went to a Highly Suspect gig in Manchester tonight, they played the tiny Night & Day cafe to a crowd of 200 at the most. I honestly feel like I imagine the kids who witnessed The Beatles at The Cavern felt, it's been one of those key, unique, musical epiphanies that you will always remember. Suffice to say they were brilliant and tore the place apart, I wouldn't be surprised if their hands were bloodied from playing so hard and with such passion. I picked up a copy of this album at the gig, whilst I very rarely find any band's releases to be better than their live show, this is still damn good. What you are getting is authentic rock n roll, so naturally there's a strong Blues influence and a similar vibe to the White Stripes. I also picked up a copy of their debut album 'Mister Asylum', which is a more immediate affair, excellent as this release is, I think it'll definitely improve even more with repeat plays. Musically the songs can get heavy and even psychedelic, but there's a nice balance of pace as well as some great lyrics along the lines of, 'I wish everyone I knew was dead so that I'd never have to pick up the phone'! You hear a lot of influences within the sonic stew yet they do not sound in the least derivative, they are new, now and a breath of fresh air. If this album doesn't make them huge and I mean Nirvana level huge, I will be shocked. They appear to have everything in place, they look great, have a killer rhythm section in twins Ryan and Rich and frontman Johnny oozes pure star quality.
This is my favourite rock release of the year and you really should make a point to check them out live.
